Assyrtiko

Variety in the Aegean. Grown extensively in Santorini and in other scattered areas of Greece (Thessaloniki, Central Greece). The unique volcanic soil of Santorini, offers the variety characteristics propagated in wine. It is characterized by the ability to mature into advanced degree without ellatonetai the acidity and-so wine, although with several senior acids in the balance. It is a variety with potential to provide dry and sweet wines.




The grapes are medium to large, cylindrical. The berries are large spherical, with medium thick skin, transparent, and gold yellow flesh, soft.
